Investigation and Valuation of Families´ Functionality
ABESKOVÁ, Žaneta
This bachelor{\crq}s work is intended to focus on family, its functionality and values thereof. The work is aimed at assessing the validity and utility of the questionnaire according to the model created by Dunovsky that was designed to research into ways of family functionality. The theoretical part is trying to give us a closer look at and define the term ``family{\crqq}, and it primarily concerns with its key functions, especially those related to biological reproduction, economic function of the family, emotional and social-behavioral function, and their disorders thereof. It also demonstrates the historical development of the family, showing how the customary family structure had been gradually changing over the time, through which it was created; from the essentially monogamous family, resting on significant patriarchal controls, till its current modern family structures and forms of coexistence. The theoretical part also includes a description of building individual family relations and the significance of parental cohabitation for each child{\crq}s well-being. Due consideration has also been given to current problems that are affecting today{\crq}s Czech family. The practical part is then focused on the assessment, measured by the diagnostic Family Functionality Questionnaire by Dunovsky, which was performed in 25 families in the village of Velke Mezirici. The qualitative research method of questioning and the structured written questionnaire technique were employed with the aim of proving its validity and utility even nowadays, and thus trying to either confirm or refute the stipulated hypothesis that the Functionality Questionnaire by Dunovsky from 80´s needs to be updated. Obviously performing the goal of the work and confirming this hypothesis are sufficiently deep to provide the result of the research.
